I was commissioned to write this game for a team building / brain storming event for Ogilvy South Africa. They had booked a venue on top of The Grand Daddy Hotel which features a rooftop Trailer park... inspiration galore and the end product a game filled with stereotypical South African characters.
Imagine the scene of the crime:
A ‘braai’ at Kosie Pienaars trailer park plot goes sour when his body is found in a rubbish bin. Your guests dressed in trailer trash chic, blue eye shadow and hair rollers galore, will get down and dirty to solve this true Cape Townian (South African) murder mystery where the guilty party will most certainly end up in a third world country prison...Unless they can bribe the law or frame another suspect for this murder!
Dress code; Trashy
Difficulty level; “Novice”
Suggested party favours for your guests; a selection of beer, fake tattoos, costume jewellery, Rasta, blond and black wigs, herbs and rizzlas, hair rollers, blue eye shadow, orange, red and black lipstick, toy guns, spectacles, bow ties, caps, spanners, head scarves, combs and mini brandies. More about the game:
No doubt about it - the deceased has been murdered! You and your guests will need to figure out potential motives and try to establish alibis in your effort to find the killer.Only problem the murderer can and will lie; framing innocent guests with dodgy alibis.
This murder mystery game is unscripted; each one of your guests are assigned a character who has a in depth background with clues leading up to the actual murder which must be shared with other suspects to solve the mystery.
Take on the role of an outrageously fun character who is a suspect in a murder investigation. You will need to use your wits and detective skills to catch the killer in your midst or try and get away with murder by framing other suspects.
You will not be doing any acting, script reading or stage performing. You and your fellow suspects will interrogate each other, taking note of any clues, motives or alibis revealed to the group in order for you to catch a murderer!Terribly fake International accents and over-actors are most welcome! All that is needed from you is a sense of humour!
Included in the downloadable mystery toolkit is everything you need to successfully host your own murder mystery game at home or at your favourite restaurant or venue.
